Summary
C-Log is a mobile sailing logbook concept designed to simplify onboard documentation for skippers and crew.
The project combined product design, branding, and landing page direction into one cohesive experience inspired by Nordic sailing culture and traditional maritime navigation. The visual identity references deep sea tones, teak yacht decks, and nautical charts to create a more tactile and atmospheric alternative to typical marine software.
The outcome was a mobile-first MVP concept establishing the foundation for the future product experience, user flows, and visual system.
01. Brand identity
Built for life at sea
The name C‑Log combines “sea” with the traditional sailing log. The visual identity uses maritime references, confident typography and a calm colour palette to make voyage data feel clear, credible and worth sharing.
02. Product
The log is the input. The sailing history is the product
C‑Log captures essential trip data and turns every completed voyage into a meaningful summary.
During the voyage, the app combines automatic tracking with quick manual entries. After arrival, sailors can review their route, miles, time under sail, engine hours and visited ports — and share selected highlights.
03. Problem
From voyage tracking to sailing history
C‑Log started with a frustrating experience of completing a paper logbook at sea. Turning it into a mobile form seemed like the obvious solution. But that would only make data entry more convenient — not address the real opportunity: helping sailors transform scattered voyage records into a clear personal history they can revisit and share.
04. Solution
One continuous journey, from departure to sharing
C‑Log connects the entire experience —from setting up a voyage and recording entries at sea to reviewing its summary after arrival.
The flow keeps onboard interaction simple while collecting enough information to calculate distance, time under sail, engine hours and visited ports. Once completed, the voyage becomes part of the sailor’s personal history and can be turned into a shareable visual story.
