Summary
C-Log is a mobile sailing logbook concept designed to simplify onboard documentation for skippers and crew.
The project combined product design, branding, and landing page direction into one cohesive experience inspired by Nordic sailing culture and traditional maritime navigation. The visual identity references deep sea tones, teak yacht decks, and nautical charts to create a more tactile and atmospheric alternative to typical marine software.
The outcome was a mobile-first MVP concept establishing the foundation for the future product experience, user flows, and visual system.
01.
Branding
A minimal maritime identity inspired by navigation, movement, and traditional sailing culture.
The name C-Log comes from the phonetic pronunciation of the letter “C” – sounding like “sea” – combined with “log”, referencing the traditional sailing logbook. The name intentionally feels short, technical, and easy to remember while remaining closely connected to maritime language.
The logo is built around a simplified “C” shape intersecting with stylized waves. The symbol references both the sea and movement, creating a minimal mark inspired by navigation, water, and sailing routes.
02.
Mobile app
The core MVP flow focuses on helping the skipper quickly create a voyage and onboard the crew before departure.
The skipper creates a new voyage by adding the essential trip details such as route, departure date, and vessel information. Once the voyage is set up, a QR code is generated to allow crew members to join directly through the app.
The flow was designed to feel simple and fast, reducing friction during pre-departure preparation and creating a shared structure for onboard logging.
